Hudson River Landscape
Hudson River Valley, c.1850. Oil on canvas landscape with emphasis on the Hudson River Valley’s characteristic pink twilight sky. Naïve figures include a man with a cane, a woman and a man in a rowboat, a man carrying a sack accompanied by his dog, and five people out for an evening sail.
Condition: This oil on canvas was cleaned, lined, and had minor touches to right lower corner and sky. The silver gilt frame dating from the 1850’s is not original to the painting.
