Here are a few of my favorite things from the J. Jefferson and Anne Weiler Miller Collection auction at Pook & Pook on April 25, 2015:
Well, this was my VERY favorite piece in the entire auction, Lot # 1143, a watercolor on paper, Schwenkfelder fraktur drawing depicting a nightime cityscape on the top and daylight cityscape on the bottom. It sold for $12,000. including Buyer's Premium.
Lot # 1159, a very attractive depiction of St. Joseph's Academy, Emmitsburg, Maryland. Oil on canvas, sold for $26, 400. including Buyer's Premium.
Many examples of interesting redware were available for the bidding, including this Pennsylvania Pie Plate attributed to the Diehl Pottery. It sold for $4560. including Buyer's Premium.
Here is another beautiful example of a redware charger, Lot # 1109, created in North Carolina, circa 1810. It sold for $13,200.
To my delight, I discoverd a Ware Chair for sale. The final bid for Lot # 1076 brought $2,640. including Buyer's Premium. To see another Ware Chair available for sale, refer to the Furniture section of this website.
