For the July 4th weekend, we chose Old Saybrook Connecticut and the Deacon Timothy Pratt Bed & Breakfast as our base. We came to visit antiques dealers and friends in the region. The B&B was built in 1746 and updated with modern amenities. The house has great wide floorboards throughout. My foot is 10 inches long. Imagine the width of the pictured board.
There is an ice cream parlor/ Moroccan bistro next door. A ten-minute walk leads to downtown and Starbucks. A short drive in the car leads to the waterfront marinas. The parlor is a great place to gather and visit. Our hosts serve fine breakfasts. The friendly guests made it a trip to remember.
